Container Hire Brisbane - Shipping Containers from $349/mo
Searching for container hire in Brisbane? There are two main options: hire a container delivered to your site, or store your goods off-site in a container at a secure yard. Storage Land in Archerfield offers the second - 20ft container storage from $349/mo with 24/7 access and no lock-in contracts.
For peace of mind, your belongings are kept in our fully fenced and gated Archerfield yard, watched over by 30+ security cameras on site.
Container hire vs container storage - what's the difference?
Container hire means a company delivers a steel container to your property. You load it on-site and either keep it there or have it collected. It suits short-term on-site projects like construction, renovations, or interstate moves where you need the container at your door.
Container storage (what Storage Land offers) means your goods live in a container at our secure Archerfield yard. You access it whenever you need to. It's better suited to ongoing storage - typically at a lower monthly cost than hire with delivery, and with the benefit of a secured gated yard rather than a box on your driveway.

The two things people mean by "container hire"
Search results mix up two different products, and the price difference between them is large.
Delivered container hire. A container is trucked to your address and left on your driveway, block or work site. You pay for the container, the delivery, the pick-up, and often a minimum term. It suits a build, a site office or a job where the contents have to be where the work is.
Container storage on a yard. You rent a container that already sits on a secure site, and you drive to it. No delivery, no pick-up, no crane or tilt-tray, and no space taken up at your place. That is what we do at Archerfield.
We do not deliver containers to customer sites. If your container has to live at your address, you want a hire company, and we would rather point you there than sell you the wrong thing.
Why the yard model is usually cheaper
With delivered hire you are paying for two truck movements before you have stored anything, and on a tight or sloped block you may be paying for a crane rather than a tilt-tray. Those costs do not scale down for a short job.
With a yard container the transport cost is your own trips. A private 20ft container here is $349 a month, month to month, with no delivery fee, no bond and no admin fee. If you are moving house, clearing a renovation or holding stock between seasons, and the contents do not need to be on site, the sums are not close.
If you already own a container
You do not need to hire one. Bring it to our yard and you are renting the hardstand only: $270 for a 10ft, $349 for a 20ft, $649 for a 40ft (by enquiry). We have a short list of tilt-tray and HIAB operators who drop containers into our yard regularly and know the site. More detail on the BYO container storage page.
Shipping Container Hire Brisbane - What It Costs at the Yard
All shipping container hire at Storage Land happens at our Archerfield yard: the container stays here on sealed hardstand behind the gate, and you get 24/7 PIN access to it. That is why it costs a fraction of delivered hire - there is no truck, no crane and no site permit involved.
A 10ft container is $270 per month, a 20ft is $349 and a 40ft is $599, all month to month with no lock-in, no bond and no admin fees. If you own a container already, a BYO hardstand spot is $270 for a 10ft and $349 for a 20ft. A 40ft BYO spot is $649 per month, and 40ft is by enquiry only - we do not always have a 40ft spot open, so call Jason on 0452 043 647 to register your interest.
Renting a container to store things rather than to put on your own site? That product is shipping container storage - same containers, same yard, built around storage rather than hire.
What to check before you hire anything
- Is the price all-in? Delivery, pick-up and any minimum term are the lines that move a quote.
- What is the ground like? A container on soft ground moves and racks the doors. Ours sit on sealed bitumen hardstand.
- Can you actually get to it? A container on a suburban block can be awkward to open if it is wedged in beside a fence.
- Is it ventilated? A sealed steel box in Brisbane sweats. Ours run a 12-vent ventilation system.
- What is the exit? Ask what it costs to stop. With us it is a month's notice, and nothing else.
What we cannot do
No delivery to your site. No power to the containers, so nothing that has to stay plugged in, and no climate control. If either of those is a hard requirement, we are not the right fit and it is cheaper for you to know that now.
