Wacol Storage - Built for the Tradies and Transport Operators
Wacol is wall-to-wall logistics, warehousing, and heavy industry. When the gear doesn't fit at base, we're a 15-minute run east on the Ipswich Motorway with room for trailers, utes, and overflow stock.

Upfront - is Wacol too far from us to make sense?
Being honest: Wacol is the furthest suburb we actively serve in the western corridor, at around 15 minutes via the Ipswich Motorway in good traffic and closer to 20 during peak hour. If your storage needs involve daily back-and-forth between base and the storage site, a facility in Wacol or Gailes itself is probably the better call.
Where we make sense for Wacol operators is in two specific scenarios:
One: Your work takes you east of Wacol on a regular basis - Brisbane CBD, Woolloongabba, the south side, airport. In that case, storage five minutes off the Ipswich Motorway in Archerfield is basically on your route, and our pricing is meaningfully lower than the larger Wacol industrial estates.
Two: You need a place for gear that is accessed weekly or monthly, not daily. Seasonal kit, overflow pallets, a trailer that lives most of its life parked, a second work ute. At that access frequency, a 15-minute drive is irrelevant and our $299/mo container or $250/mo bay beats renting a slice of a Wacol warehouse.
If neither of those fits, we'll be the first to say a closer facility is probably smarter. We'd rather not take a booking you'll regret.
Who uses us from Wacol
Smaller transport and logistics operators
Wacol has a lot of transport businesses at every scale, from two-truck outfits to the national distribution centres. The smaller ones don't always need (or want to pay for) a full warehouse bay - they just need a container's worth of gear kept dry, and room for a trailer or two.
Trade and service businesses with a western base
Plumbers, electricians, HVAC technicians, and commercial cleaners who work across Brisbane but have a registered address in Wacol, Gailes, or Richlands. They need gear stored in a central-ish location, not way out west.
Fleet owners with one too many vehicles at home
People who run a small business with a couple of work vehicles plus personal cars, and whose driveway has maxed out. Usually one or two vehicle bays does the job.
Event and hire businesses
Wacol has pockets of small event-hire and party-hire operators who need somewhere to store trestle tables, marquees, PA gear, and trailers between bookings.
What it costs
| Option | Details | Monthly |
|---|---|---|

For fleet operators needing multiple bays or containers, Jason can usually arrange adjacent allocations if you book together - call him on 0452 043 647.
Getting from Wacol to the yard
Via the Ipswich Motorway (15 min)
The only sensible route. Jump on the Ipswich Motorway eastbound at the Progress Road or Freeman Road entry. Continue east past Richlands and Inala. Take the Beaudesert Road / Archerfield exit. At the lights, head south on Beaudesert Road and turn right onto Beaufighter Avenue within 500 metres. Sign-posted, easy to find.
From Wacol industrial estate (Tile Street / BAC Street area)
Head east on Progress Road to the motorway, then the same motorway route. Roughly 16-18 minutes depending on traffic at the Centenary Highway junction.
Coming with a trailer or truck
The yard has been designed for trade vehicles - wide driveways, full turning circle for a pantech, no gate tickets to mess with. Drop trailer, load up, leave, no fuss.
What the yard handles, and what it doesn't
Built for:
- Trade utes, fleet vehicles, and work vans
- Trailers (box, flat, tipper, tag)
- Caravans and camper trailers
- Small to mid-size plant and equipment
- Pallet-scale business stock
- Event, hire, and sports gear
Not built for:
- Live-aboard caravan stays or people sleeping on site
- Full-length prime movers with trailers attached (36m+ rigs - our bays are sized for 20ft container / vehicle footprint)
- Powered storage with on-site electricity at the container
- Hot works, welding, or active workshop use inside containers
If you're unsure whether your rig fits, Jason can check over the phone and save you the drive.
Wacol-specific questions we get
We run a three-ute plumbing business out of Wacol. Is there a bulk rate if we take three bays together?
We don't publish a bulk bay discount, but if you book three adjacent bays together, Jason usually has some flexibility on setup or on deposit waiver. Give him a call rather than booking online so he can build the fleet allocation correctly the first time.
Can I park a detached semi-trailer (no prime mover) on one of your bays for a few months between leases?
Our standard vehicle bays fit vehicles and trailers up to about 8 metres. A full semi-trailer (13-14 metres) is longer than a standard bay will accommodate. For that specific size, a yard designed for articulated vehicles is a better fit. We can't help with full-length semi trailers.
Our Wacol business has some equipment that we share with a sister business run by my brother. Can the container be listed under my business but also accessible to his team?
The container is rented in one name, but access is controlled by the padlock and gate code - not by identity checks. If you share the key and code with your brother's team, they can access the container as easily as you can. The billing sits with whoever signs the rental.
We do regional deliveries across south-east QLD from our Wacol base. Could Storage Land serve as a dispatch or staging point closer to Brisbane?
It can, within reason. You can load pallets or goods into your container and have drivers collect from here rather than heading back to Wacol first. We're not a parcel depot or a crossdocking facility - we don't sign for third-party deliveries as a general rule - but for your own outbound movements, using the container as a staging point is a normal use case.
We're an event hire business and we have a peak season (October-January) where we need more storage, and a quiet period (February-August). Is there a way to scale containers up and down by month?
Yes - that's actually the biggest advantage of month-to-month and no lock-in. You can start with one container, add a second in October, and drop back to one in February. As long as we have availability, we can do the add any month. Let Jason know a week or two ahead so he can earmark a container.
Our business is registered in Wacol but most of our jobs are south side. Does it actually make sense to store gear here rather than closer to Wacol?
Only you can do that maths, and we'll give you the honest answer: if you access gear three times a week for morning starts, probably no. If you access it once a week or less, and your jobs are on the south side of Brisbane, storage on the south side beats storage at your registered address. Our yard is closer to Brisbane CBD than Wacol is.
