Built for the Kind of Work Rocklea Does

Rocklea is defined by the Brisbane Markets. The 100-hectare site on Sherwood Road is the wholesale hub for produce, flowers, and food distribution across south-east Queensland. If you work in or around the markets - whether you're a grower, a wholesaler, a florist, or a delivery operator - you know that space is always tight and commercial rent near Sherwood Road isn't getting cheaper.

That's the most common reason Rocklea-based customers come to us. Market vendors storing display equipment, signage, and packaging between market days. Florists keeping bulk vases, stands, and event props in a container rather than renting an extra room. Delivery operators who need somewhere secure to park a van or truck overnight when their depot is full.

Beyond the markets, Rocklea's industrial strip along Ipswich Road and Sherwood Road is home to transport companies, manufacturers, and trade businesses. A lot of these operators have the same problem - the workshop is for working, not for storing overflow stock, seasonal gear, or the equipment you only use twice a year. A 20ft container at $299/month costs a fraction of what an extra warehouse bay would run you.

Getting Here from Rocklea

From Brisbane Markets / Sherwood Road (under 3 min):

From Ipswich Road / Ipswich Motorway end (4 min):
Head south along Ipswich Road until it becomes Beaudesert Road at the motorway junction. Continue straight past Rocklea station on your left. Beaufighter Avenue is on the left about 1 km past the junction.

From Rocklea station:
If you're south of the train line near Hawtree or Brier Street, head south to Beaudesert Road and turn left. Beaufighter Ave is about a 2-minute drive south.

The site has wide driveways and open turning areas. You can comfortably swing a trailer, reverse a truck, or pull a van right up to your container door. No multi-storey ramps, no narrow corridors.

What the Facility Actually Looks Like

Some people picture shipping containers dumped in a dirt field. That's not what this is.

Our site at 675 Beaufighter Avenue is a purpose-built storage yard on sealed bitumen. Every container is elevated on timber blocks so air circulates underneath and moisture doesn't wick up from the ground. The yard is fenced, gated, and covered by CCTV 24/7.

You bring your own padlock - we don't hold a key, and neither does anyone else. Access is available around the clock, which matters if you're heading to the Brisbane Markets at 3am or loading gear after a late shift.

We've held a 5.0-star Google rating across 144+ reviews. Security, ease of access, and value for money are the things customers mention most.

Questions Rocklea Customers Ask

I'm a market vendor - can I access my container at 3am before the Saturday markets?

Absolutely. You have 24/7 access with no restrictions. Several of our customers are market vendors who swing by in the early hours to load up. The site is well-lit and CCTV-monitored, so you're not fumbling around in the dark.

We run a delivery business and need overnight parking for two vans. What are the options?

Vehicle bays are $250/mo each. The yard is sealed bitumen with plenty of room to manoeuvre. If you also need a container for tools or stock, we can arrange bays and containers next to each other.

How does this compare to renting a small warehouse unit in the Rocklea industrial area?

A basic warehouse or industrial unit in Rocklea typically starts at $300-500/week. A 20ft container gives you 14 square metres of secure, lockable storage for $299/month - roughly one-fifth of the cost. You don't get power or a roller door, but for pure storage, the maths is hard to argue with.

Is there a flood risk? Rocklea copped it in 2011 and 2022.

Our site is in Archerfield, east of Beaudesert Road, and is not in the Oxley Creek flood zone that affects parts of Rocklea. The sealed bitumen yard drains well and the containers are elevated on timber blocks. We operated through both the 2022 and 2024 rain events without issues.

Can I store a boat here over winter?

Yes - vehicle bays accommodate boats on trailers. Just make sure the combined height clears the gate (most recreational boats do). $250/mo, month-to-month, no seasonal lock-in.

Do I need to commit to 6 or 12 months?

No. It's month-to-month from day one. Give us 30 days notice when you want to leave. Plenty of our Rocklea customers started with "just a month or two" and stayed because it works.
