Eight Mile Plains is named for the flat ground and the eight miles back to what is now Woolloongabba. It was proclaimed an agricultural reserve in 1864 and was still farmland well into last century, with the 1949 Post Office Directory listing over a hundred farmers, poultry farmers and fruit growers. The houses came in two waves, the 1970s-80s and then the 1990s-2000s, and the mix is unusual: at the last census over a quarter of homes here were townhouses and almost none were apartments. What the yard handles, and what it does not

Pallets, stock, tools, fit-out gear, trailers, tracked and wheeled plant. Drive-up access, so a hand pallet jack works straight off the tailgate. What we do not have is power to the containers, so nothing refrigerated and nothing climate controlled. The containers run a 12-vent ventilation system, which handles humidity, not temperature.
